Can you live on Minimum Wage?

A new study says you can't

  1. Been there, done that. I remember those days being a single mother. Thank god I'm not a republican, if I were, I would make a stupid comment, like, "If I can do it and pull my bootstraps up, everyone can without any help." The only difference between me and a repub is the fact that SINCE I've been there, and had GOVERNMENT HELP (thank you food stamps, unemployment, low-income energy, etc.,) I NEVER would have gotten out of that situation. Therefore, I willingly pay my taxes for these programs, and always will. It has nothing to do with lazy people, it has to do with helping them. I realize that my business my tank tomorrow, I realize I might get sick, I realize I might be there again tomorrow. One paycheck away. It's so sad people feel the opposite. They really need to get there and understand. That's about it. Good night. Sherry Morrison.

  2. Thank you Sherry for speaking out and sharing your personal story . I wish more people would have your courage to do so. Everything you have said is so true. No one knows when they could be out of a job, unable to pay their bills, etc. The ONE Paycheck away! Many of us live pay check to pay check and it is crazy for anyone to resent helping our fellow man. We always will pay taxes. I have not seen a Republican leader that tried to help the poor or middle class, yet they believe they are the moral Party. I say time to wake up America. Quit allowing Republicans to divert the attention onto the poor, blaming them for our woes, when the real problem is corporate greed! Glad you support the right party, the party that doesn't forget the struggles of single mothers, which is apparent by the way they vote. We could even do more for our single parents than we do.
