HOW FAR INTO THE RABBIT HOLE DO YOU WANT TO GO? Coalition to stop gun violence!

Coalition to stop gun violence! I saw stats that I was not aware of and very disturbing. Please be a part of stopping gun violence! Sometimes ignorance is bliss! Was I ready to take the pill that would let me see how far into the rabbit hole I could go. The more I know the more I feel how many of us need to wake up! I think of the Matrix. Maybe I should have taken the blue pill

The Matrix
written by Andy Wachowski & Larry Wachowski

Morpheus: I imagine that right now you're feeling a bit like Alice. Tumbling down the rabbit hole?
Neo: You could say that.
Morpheus: I can see it in your eyes. You have the look of a man who accepts what he sees because he's expecting to wake up. Ironically, this is not far from the truth. Do you believe in fate, Neo?
Neo: No.
Morpheus: Why not?
Neo: 'Cause I don't like the idea that I'm not in control of my life.
Morpheus: I know exactly what you mean. Let me tell you why you're here. You're here because you know something. What you know, you can't explain. But you feel it. You felt it your entire life. That there's something wrong with the world. You don't know what it is, but it's there. Like a splinter in your mind -- driving you mad. It is this feeling that has brought you to me. Do you know what I'm talking about?
Neo: The Matrix?
Morpheus: Do you want to know what it is?
(Neo nods his head.)
Morpheus: The Matrix is everywhere, it is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window, or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work, or when go to church or when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.
Neo: What truth?
Morpheus: That you are a slave, Neo. Like everyone else, you were born into bondage, born inside a prison that you cannot smell, taste, or touch. A prison for your mind. (long pause, sighs) Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself. This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back.
(In his left hand, Morpheus shows a blue pill.)
Morpheus: You take the blue pill and the story ends. You wake in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. (a red pill is shown in his other hand) You take the red pill and you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes. (Long pause; Neo begins to reach for the red pill) Remember -- all I am offering is the truth, nothing more.
(Neo takes the red pill and swallows it with a glass of water)

jumping into this political arena I feel much like Neo in the Matrix, and I am becoming more aware of my surroundings and the people in it. True blue is just offering you the truth.

I am not saying we take away the right to bear arms but what do you think of this? "On June 26, 2008, the U.S. Supreme Court embraced the National Rifle Association's contention that the Second Amendment provides individuals with the right to take violent action against our government should it become "tyrannical." The following timeline catalogues incidents of insurrectionist violence (or the promotion of such violence) Think of the many interpretations of this. Does a death always have to happen for us to get it.

  1. Every time there is a crime like this people on the left start screaming for gun control laws... like it makes any sense to make it a crime to own a gun. In case you haven't realized... shooting a person in cold blood IS a crime. If the person is willing to do that... what is to stop them from breaking the law to get a gun in the first place? If guns are banned, then only criminals would own them... criminals don't care if they break the law. Oh, and don't forget who STOPPED the violence in Arizona; law abiding citizens who were LEGALLY carrying guns.

  2. This isn't a Right/Left issue. The NRA makes it a "Party" issue. It is about taking responsibility for where we are today. Gun Control isn't about taking away rights. It's about protecting everyone's rights. If the laws were still in effect that Pres. Clinton initiated, then this young man wouldn't have had the ability to get the gun he had to do what he did. There is no reason for assault weapons, except to kill another human being. They will ruin any meat if used for hunting. And as for competitive shooting??? Give me a break. It is more important for someone to compete than for one person to live?

When the right to bear arms was written into the Constitution, there was no such thing as an assault weapon. There is no risk to the average American like the risks the settlers first lived with.

The one part of this that is so terrible, it is usually the gun owner's own family at risk. Not mine!
